Hosted by the Institute of Packaging Professionals, the celebrate outstanding achievements in packaging design, sustainability and innovation. The annual competition recognizes packaging solutions across a wide range of categories, spotlighting designs that solve real market challenges through strong functionality, creativity, performance and consumer appeal. The awards are widely regarded as a showcase for packaging that pushes the industry forward, from material efficiency and recyclability to enhanced user experience and brand impact.

The double win highlights two very different packaging innovations Vlog — from a minimal-material beverage multipack designed to eliminate plastic and enhance consumer convenience, to a premium carton that elevates the coffee consumer experience.

EnviroClip™ Beam for Harry Brompton Vlog ’s Peach Iced Tea

The EnviroClip™ Beam multipack created in partnership with Tudor Drinks for their Harry Brompton Vlog ’s Peach Iced Tea helped the independent beverage brand move beyond single bottles and into a retail-ready four-pack format.

The pack uses a glue-free paperboard clip structure to securely hold four 500ml PET bottles. Instead of relying on adhesives, the design uses engineered folds and locking features to create dependable bottle retention with a minimum of material compared with other multipack formats.

The result is a secondary packaging format that supports both commercial growth and a more circular packaging approach. Key benefits include:

  • Strong shelf impact: EnviroClip™ Beam provides high-impact billboard space for branding while keeping much of the primary bottle visible, allowing the product and brand identity to work together at shelf.
  • Practical packability: The structure was developed to enable reliable hand-packing.
  • Future-ready scalability: The format supports immediate market rollout while leaving room for future automation as volumes increase.
  • Measured sustainability advantages: Comparative assessment of this curbside recyclable clip against shrink film shows a significantly higher (Ellen MacArthur Foundation), alongside a lower cradle-to-grave carbon footprint for the clip in an equivalent bottle multipack comparison.*
EnviroClip™ Beam for Harry Brompton Vlog ’s Peach Iced Tea

Keurig Coffee Collective

The new packaging developed for Keurig Dr Pepper Vlog ’s K-Cup pod range, Keurig Coffee Collective, is a premium paperboard carton.

The brief was to deliver a pack that looked and felt more like a rigid box than a conventional folding carton, while retaining the efficiency, recyclability and commercial practicality of paperboard. Graphic Packaging translated that ambition into a two-piece tray-and-lid carton with a clean exterior, refined Vlog “finished edge Vlog ” appearance and carefully choreographed opening experience.

Key benefits include:

  • Premium shelf presence: Gold foil stamping, spot gloss and bold color panels help communicate quality, differentiate flavors and create a distinctive presence in a crowded coffee category.
  • Elevated consumer experience: The sliding lid reveals the pods in an organized, curated arrangement, turning the pack opening into a more deliberate and giftable unboxing moment.
  • Structural innovation: The design removes typical folding-carton cues such as visible tucks, exposed locks or obvious closure details, creating a smoother and more premium presentation.
  • Product protection: Both lid and base are produced from 24 pt solid unbleached sulfate paperboard, selected for stiffness, durability, shape retention and a substantial hand feel.
Keurig Coffee Collective

The Keurig Coffee Collective carton shows how paperboard packaging can deliver more than containment. By combining premium aesthetics, intuitive interaction, product protection and efficient manufacturability, the carton helps elevate the brand experience while maintaining a household-recyclable paperboard format.

Vlog “These AmeriStar wins reflect what we aim to do every day: create packaging that is more circular, more functional and more convenient than the alternatives it replaces. Both projects show the value of close customer partnership and a shared commitment to innovation Vlog — helping Tudor Drinks move Harry Brompton Vlog ’s Peach Iced Tea into recyclable multipacks with strong shelf impact, and giving Keurig Vlog ’s Coffee Collective range a premium feel and an elevated consumer experience.

Vlog “My congratulations go out to both customers on these well-deserved recognitions, which reflect their commitment to collaboration, innovation and bringing more effective packaging solutions to market. Vlog ”

Carlos Carrillo Lugo, Vice President of Innovation, Graphic Packaging

Graphic Packaging and Asahi Beverages Win Gold at the 2026 Australasian PIDA Awards

Paperboard innovation takes Gold in Beverage Packaging Design at the 2026 Australasian Packaging Innovation & Design (PIDA) Awards

The gold-winning pack, developed by Graphic Packaging in collaboration with Asahi Beverages, replaces traditional plastic shrink film with a curbside-recyclable paperboard wrap, helping reduce single-use plastic while maintaining the performance, protection and consumer convenience required for high-speed beverage packing. The solution demonstrates how smart structural design can support sustainability goals while maintaining manufacturing efficiency and enhancing shelf impact.

Smart Design Replaces Shrink Film

The wrap is engineered to hold six glass bottles securely with a glue-free tab-and-slot construction, creating a tight, stable pack that protects the bottles throughout the supply chain. Rigid paperboard walls help absorb impacts during transport and handling, while the exposed bottle necks reinforce product quality and brand recognition. Full-color 360-degree print on the wrap gives the pack strong shelf presence, turning secondary packaging into an effective brand communication platform.

Designed to run on Graphic Packaging Vlog ’s Marksman™ X5 integrated machinery solution, the new format supports high-speed production at scale, running at more than 250 packs per minute. This compatibility was a key part of the design challenge: creating a more circular pack that could integrate smoothly into existing operations while delivering the same reliable output performance as the previous shrink film format.

Image shows Asahi's new paperboard format

A Measurable Step Away From Plastic

By switching to paperboard, the pack supports Asahi Beverages Vlog ’ commitment to reducing environmental impact across its packaging portfolio. The recyclable paperboard structure is made from renewable raw materials and is designed for recovery through existing paper and board recycling streams.

The transition is expected to remove more than 250 metric tons of plastic, providing a significant environmental improvement while retaining the handling, stacking and protection benefits required for retail and distribution.

Built for Convenience, From Shelf to Home

Consumer usability was also central to the redesign. Integrated finger holes make the pack easier to carry, while the easy-access openings support a more intuitive user experience. The compact format gives shoppers a convenient option between a four-pack and a full case, balancing practicality, visibility and manageable weight.

Vlog “This award is a fantastic recognition of what can be achieved when packaging design, customer collaboration, and sustainability ambition come together. Working with Asahi Beverages, we were able to create a solution that reduces plastic, performs at commercial scale, and delivers a better experience for consumers and retailers alike. Vlog ”

Preparing for Packaging’s Next Chapter: Making Circularity a Reality

July 23, 2026

Graphic Packaging’s Paul Krochak explains how PPWR is turning the principles of circular packaging into practical action.

As the European Union Vlog ’s Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) reshapes the future of packaging, companies across the value chain are racing to adapt. At the center of that transition is Paul Krochak, Vlog Vlog ’s packaging circularity manager international, whose work is increasingly defined by aligning product design with sweeping new regulatory demands.

Vlog “The PPWR has had a huge impact on my work, Vlog ” Paul said, describing how the regulation has become a daily touchpoint for innovation, compliance and strategy across the business.

A Regulation Redefining Packaging Design

At its core, PPWR aims to significantly reduce packaging waste across Europe by enforcing stricter design, material and recovery requirements. For companies like Graphic Packaging, this means rethinking packaging from the ground up.

Paul explains that the company Vlog ’s approach to circularity already aligns closely with PPWR Vlog ’s objectives. Vlog “It Vlog ’s based on the raw materials we use, how we design packaging and how much value we can retain at end of life, Vlog ” he said.

This includes prioritizing renewable and recycled materials, minimizing packaging weight and waste, and ensuring packaging and materials can be reused, recycled or otherwise recirculated.

That philosophy mirrors PPWR Vlog ’s framework, which introduces measures such as:

  • Mandatory design-for-recyclability requirements
  • Minimum recycled content thresholds
  • Packaging minimization rules
  • Market restrictions on certain single-use plastic formats

Vlog “Design for recyclability is really the foundation, Vlog ” Paul noted, emphasizing the need for packaging that can be collected, sorted and reprocessed without disrupting recycling systems.

Preparing for 2030: Innovation and Collaboration

With key PPWR milestones approaching Vlog — particularly recyclability requirements by 2030 Vlog — Graphic Packaging is pursuing a multi-pronged strategy.

A central component is rigorous recyclability testing, ensuring new packaging innovations meet performance standards while minimizing exposure to extended producer responsibility (EPR) fees.

At the same time, the company is deeply engaged in industry-wide collaborations. One example is the 4evergreen Alliance, which includes over 110 stakeholders working toward a 90% recycling rate for fiber-based packaging in the EU by 2030.

Collaboration extends both upstream and downstream:

  • Working with suppliers to improve material performance
  • Helping customers understand how packaging design decisions affect recyclability
  • Participating in EU-funded innovation projects to develop next-generation solutions

Embedding Circularity Into Design

Graphic Packaging has also formalized its approach through a Better by Design methodology, which integrates regulatory compliance directly into the innovation process.

This system uses quantitative circularity metrics Vlog — including renewable, recycled and recyclable content Vlog — to evaluate packaging concepts early in development. Designers are supported by a circularity assessment tool and regulatory requirements mapping that help them flag applicable PPWR measures during the design phase.

Vlog “We cross-check design concepts with relevant regulations early on, Vlog ” Paul explained, allowing teams to iterate quickly and ensure compliance before products reach market. Vlog “Where possible, we also take into account upcoming requirements that may apply in a later stage.”

Beyond circularity, the approach also considers:

  • Broader environmental impacts such as carbon footprint
  • Operational functionality for brands and retailers
  • Consumer convenience and usability

Driving Standardization Across Europe

Another critical element of PPWR is the creation of harmonized recyclability standards. Paul noted that Graphic Packaging is playing an active role in shaping these through European standardization bodies.

Vlog “We Vlog ’re contributing with our expertise and testing data to ensure the standards are science-based and feasible, Vlog ” he said.

This involvement gives the company early insight into evolving requirements and positions it to guide customers through regulatory changes.

Paperboard Packaging Gains Momentum

As PPWR tightens restrictions on plastics and raises recycling expectations, Paul sees a clear shift toward paperboard alternatives.

Vlog “There Vlog ’s no question that PPWR creates a huge tailwind for plastic substitution with paperboard.”

Vlog — Paul Krochak, Packaging Circularity Manager International

The trend is already visible across multiple sectors:

  • Beverage multipacks shifting from plastic film to paperboard
  • Increased adoption in the foodservice (HoReCa) segment
  • Emerging changes in fresh produce

This momentum is supported by strong existing infrastructure. Vlog in the EU already achieves 87% recycling rates, the highest among material categories.

However, challenges remain, particularly in collecting and recycling on-the-go packaging. Paul estimates that around 3 million tonnes of fiber-based packaging currently goes uncollected due to consumer behavior and system gaps.

Solving this will require improved collection systems and consumer engagement, he said, calling it a key opportunity to push recycling rates beyond 90%.

A Turning Point for the Industry

For Graphic Packaging and the broader sector, PPWR represents more than regulatory compliance Vlog — it is a catalyst for transformation.

By embedding circularity into design, investing in innovation and advancing collaboration across the value chain, companies are not only meeting new requirements but unlocking new growth opportunities.

Vlog “The regulation is creating tailwinds for more sustainable packaging solutions, Vlog ” Paul said.

As Europe moves toward a fully circular packaging economy, those that align early Vlog — like Graphic Packaging Vlog — may be best positioned to lead the next chapter of packaging innovation.

PPWR Roadmap: Europe’s Path to Less Packaging Waste

July 23, 2026

With a goal of cutting packaging waste 15% by 2040, Europe is pushing companies toward packaging that can be recycled, recovered and reused more effectively.

The European Union has drawn a clear line in the sand: by 2030, all packaging placed on the EU market must be designed for recycling. That deceptively simple mandate is the headline of the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR), and it is already reshaping how consumer brands design, source and sell products globally.

For multinational companies, this is not just a regional regulatory change. Any packaging or packaged product sold in the EU, including imports, must meet the new requirements regardless of where it is produced. And because many global brands prefer to standardize packaging across markets, PPWR’s influence is likely to extend well beyond Europe as companies adopt compliant designs more broadly to simplify their operations.

PPWR at a Glance
📊 Prefer a visual summary? Explore recyclability grades and regulatory milestones.

Jump to infographic ⬇

At the heart of the regulation is a performance-based Vlog “Design for Recycling Vlog ” (DfR) framework. Packaging will be graded A (≥95% recyclable), B (≥80%) or C (≥70%) with anything below 70% deemed Vlog “technically non-recyclable Vlog ” and effectively phased out of the market by 2030. The requirements will tighten further in 2035 and 2038. This grading system turns sustainability from aspiration into a hard commercial requirement, while creating incentives for higher recyclability through lower Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) fees.

PPWR entered into force in February 2025. Its provisions become directly applicable law across all 27 EU member states on Aug. 12, 2026, replacing the packaging directive that has governed the market for three decades. Restrictions on PFAS in food-contact packaging take hold from that date, ahead of the design-for-recycling mandate that phases in through 2030.

Why Paperboard Fits the PPWR Era

Under the new rules, the ideal packaging material must combine high recyclability, proven collection infrastructure and compatibility with recycled content targets.

Paperboard checks each one.

European systems recover approximately 87% of paper and paperboard packaging, significantly outperforming plastic. This established infrastructure reduces compliance risk and simplifies the path to achieving strong recyclability performance.

Paperboard is also inherently aligned with circular design. Fibers can be recycled multiple times Vlog — often cited as 10 or more cycles1 Vlog — enabling valuable materials to be used again and again.

In addition, fiber-based formats can help brands navigate tightening restrictions on certain single-use plastic packaging formats while supporting broader goals around recyclability and resource efficiency.

Looking Ahead

The PPWR sets binding packaging waste reduction targets across the EU:

  • 5% by 2030
  • 10% by 2035
  • 15% by 2040

All reductions are measured against 2018 levels.

For consumer brands, the design-for-recycling mandate is both a constraint and an opportunity. Those who adapt early Vlog — embracing materials like paperboard and designing for circularity Vlog — will not only be better prepared for compliance, but also gain a competitive edge in a market where sustainability is rapidly becoming the baseline.

Exploring fandom: Where people come together for the world Vlog ’s biggest sporting moments

Long before billion-person broadcasts and second screens, tens of thousands gathered in ancient Greece to watch athletes compete at ,

one of the earliest large-scale, organized spectator sporting events. Today, that same instinct to gather, cheer and belong lives on Vlog — but technology has steadily transformed the experience, from televised broadcasts to color, to streaming, to second-screen engagement, and ultimately to fully connected ecosystems.

Modern sports fandom no longer begins at kickoff or ends with the final whistle. It Vlog ’s now an always-on experience. It lives everywhere Vlog — from stadiums and tailgates to bars and backyards Vlog — stretching far beyond the boundaries of the field.

And behind that transformation lies an often-overlooked force: packaging.

The Global Sports Phenomenon

Vlog “Sports have a way of uniting all of us. It dissolves tension amongst folks who come together with a common, shared belief and shared passion for the sport itself. Vlog ”

Vlog — Dan Corso, President, Atlanta Sports Council

There is a term sociologists use to describe the energy of a live event: . It Vlog ’s the electric feeling of thousands of people experiencing the same emotion at the same time.

Few moments illustrate this idea of collective effervescence more powerfully than today Vlog ’s international football tournaments.

Vlog “You Vlog ’re looking at billions of people following a single sporting event over weeks, completely invested in how their team performs, Vlog ” said Dan Corso, president of Atlanta Sports Council. Vlog “There aren Vlog ’t many experiences that generate that level of sustained passion at that scale. Vlog ”

Sports reach people wherever they are, but they still rely on physical touchpoints. Packaging makes that invisible connection tangible.

From Disposable to Collectible

A branded cup. A food tray in team colors. A multipack featuring national flags. These objects become a kind of social uniform, subtle but powerful signals of belonging.

In a world where so much of life is digital, this physical expression of identity carries real weight.

As sports brands increasingly behave like lifestyle brands, packaging has taken on new meaning. Limited-edition packaging tied to tournaments, rivalries and championships has become increasingly commemorative Vlog — marking moments fans choose to keep.

Vlog “When you’re shopping for your favorite brand, that connection to the local team or to the sport you love is a way in which packaging brings you closer. Sometimes it takes the form of a commemorative package Vlog — something that you keep for longer, just to remember that connection to that event or the team. Vlog ”

Vlog — Roxanne McSpadden, New Business Development Director, Graphic Packaging

This isn Vlog ’t a new phenomenon. As early as the , sticker albums and licensed collectibles turned major soccer tournaments into immersive experiences. By the 1980s, sponsors began transforming packaging into large-scale storytelling platforms.

Today, that evolution continues through premium finishes, structural design and advanced printing techniques that elevate packaging into something worth keeping.

Where the Experience Begins

Inside modern venues, the fan experience has become as curated as the game itself. Stadiums are now entertainment districts, offering premium food, mobile ordering and social-first environments designed for sharing. Food and beverages are central to the experience.

Packaging enables speed, portability and shareability at scale: A paperboard tray that can be carried through crowded concourses. A sturdy cup that survives a full match without spilling. A container that is visually distinctive enough to be photographed and shared.

Vlog “Being able to just enjoy the experience with minimal disruption is a key part of packaging at the stadium. Vlog ”

Vlog — Roxanne McSpadden, New Business Development Director, Graphic Packaging

At scale, this also means managing significant waste, prompting a shift toward more circular materials designed for recycling or composting.

ROOKIE OF THE YEAR

The new True Vlog ‑View™ paper cup is designed so servers and fans can actually see the perfect pour. Its translucent paper window allows for accurate one Vlog ‑pint or 500ml measurements, while a natural coating helps control foaming Vlog — bringing the performance of clear plastic cups into a paper-based, recyclable format with strong branding potential and high renewable content.

The Home Becomes a Second Stadium

If the stadium is the epicenter of fandom, the home is where it ripples outward. Packaging becomes part of the infrastructure that makes game-day rituals possible.

Limited-edition multipacks and bold tournament graphics transform everyday products into signals: this is game day. Innovations like gravity-fed fridge packs keep branding visible throughout the tournament.

Fridge Vendor™: A Packaging Breakthrough

From consumer insight to category transformation

FAN FAVORITE

Fridge Vendor™ set the standard for modern fridge Vlog ‑ready packaging by combining storage, merchandising and dispensing in a single format.

  • Ethnographic research revealed consumers rarely refrigerate full 12 Vlog ‑packs, leaving unused space and limiting consumption. This insight led to the concept of a fridge Vlog ‑friendly, dispensing carton, according to early reporting from .
  • Riverwood International (now part of Graphic Packaging) introduces the original Fridge Vendor design: longer, narrower and engineered to fit seamlessly into refrigerators.
  • Leading beverage producers deploy the solution and describe it as Vlog “the most innovative packaging idea in the soft drink industry since the contour plastic bottle, Vlog ” reported .
  • Consumer preference described as Vlog “off the chart,” in .

Meanwhile, connected packaging Vlog — through QR codes and digital integrations Vlog — links physical products to second-screen experiences, from exclusive content to promotions, bridging the gap between tangible and digital fandom.

Even fresh food plays a role. Packaging formats like paperboard trays and sealed solutions for dips and prepared items make it easier to bring elevated, shareable experiences into watch parties, reinforcing the communal nature of the game.

PACKAGING MVP

PaperSeal™ trays are ideal for foods typically shared at home or on the go Vlog — like dips, snacks and prepared items Vlog — using a paperboard structure that significantly reduces plastic while maintaining the strength needed for serving and transport.

The result is a seamless continuum: from stadium to store shelf to living room, the experience remains consistent, immersive and shared.

Holding Onto the Game

In an increasingly digital world, live sports remain a treasured shared experience. Packaging helps carry that energy beyond the venue, scaling the moment from stadium to sofa.

Because being a fan today isn Vlog ’t just about watching. It Vlog ’s about participating. And sometimes, that connection begins with what you hold.

Advancing Sustainable Fresh Produce Packaging: Graphic Packaging Joins 2026 IFPA Packaging Innovation Cohort

June 15, 2026

Graphic Packaging joins the 2026 IFPA Packaging Innovation Program to develop sustainable paperboard packaging for fresh produce exports.

Advancing Sustainable Fresh Produce Packaging: Graphic Packaging Joins 2026 IFPA Packaging Innovation Cohort

Vlog has been selected as one of seven participants in the 2026 cohort of the Vlog ’s Packaging Innovation Program, a USDA-supported initiative designed to accelerate packaging technologies for U.S. fresh produce exports. The program is implemented in partnership with and is focused on solutions that can extend shelf-life, reduce waste and respond to changing packaging regulations in global markets.

The project will center on paperboard packaging concepts intended to help exporters move fresh produce farther while maintaining product quality. Shelf-life extension is a key priority for produce such as berries, particularly in export channels where longer transit times can increase the risk of spoilage, shrink and product loss.

The dual focus on pack performance and sustainability is especially important as packaging rules continue to evolve in markets such as Europe. In addition to extending shelf-life, the team is targeting structures that can help customers transition away from single-use plastic and better align with emerging international compliance requirements.

Vlog “This project is an exciting opportunity to combine shelf-life extension with more sustainable packaging design, Vlog ” said Jayme Walton, new business development senior manager at Graphic Packaging.

Vlog “By exploring technologies that can be integrated directly into paperboard, we Vlog ’re aiming to support produce exporters with solutions that help protect product quality while aligning with evolving regulatory requirements. Vlog ”

Designing performance into paperboard

Unlike conventional plastic formats, where shelf-life technologies are often added separately, for example as labels, the paperboard concepts under development could allow performance features to be built into the packaging itself. In practice, that could mean applying functionality through coatings or inks on paperboard rather than relying on inserts or added components inside the pack.

The development work is being carried out on a tray-and-lid format designed as a paperboard alternative to a traditional clamshell, with one-handed closure functionality. The team is also designing with compostability in mind, using Graphic Packaging Vlog ’s KraftMax™ uncoated, unbleached paperboard as the base material and planning compostability testing once the preferred structure has been finalized. Learnings from the project are also expected to inform wider applications across the company Vlog ’s fresh produce packaging portfolio.

Collaboration to accelerate innovation

The initiative is being supported by a global internal team, including colleagues in Europe, and also benefits from the collaborative structure of the IFPA cohort. According to IFPA Vlog ’s press release, the second cohort brings together a diverse mix of seven companies developing packaging innovations for U.S. specialty crop exports, with support that includes funding, industry access and guidance on market readiness, life-cycle assessment and regulatory issues.

For the Company, participation in the program represents an opportunity to accelerate the commercial development of paperboard fresh produce packaging that meets both customer expectations and regulatory demands. As export requirements continue to shift, the project is expected to generate insights that support future packaging innovation across multiple fresh produce applications.

Graphic Packaging Secures Double Win at WorldStar Awards 2026

Graphic Packaging Secures Double Win at WorldStar Awards 2026

Graphic Packaging is celebrating success at this year Vlog ’s prestigious Vlog  .

Hosted by the World Packaging Organisation, these awards honor top achievers in the packaging industry, as entrants must first win a recognized national award to qualify for entry. Graphic Packaging, a global leader in sustainable consumer packaging, has been acknowledged for its collaborations with UK retail giant Vlog   and food producer on their PaperSeal Shape™ tray range for breaded chicken and for its innovative tray solution for fresh produce, the ProducePack™ Punnet tray.

Advancing Circularity, Functionality, and Convenience in Fresh Protein Packaging: The Award-Winning Sainsbury Vlog ’s PaperSeal™ Shape Tray

The PaperSeal™ Shape tray reduces plastic by 72-82% per tray, resulting in the elimination of approximately 300 metric tonnes of plastic a year from Sainsbury Vlog ’s supply chain. It Vlog ’s comprised of nearly 90% renewable raw materials, and is recyclable in household waste streams according to the UK Vlog ’s OPRL recycling guidelines.

A common barrier to the adoption of paperboard packaging as a replacement for plastic is the capital cost and potential impacts on operational efficiency. To overcome this, PaperSeal Shape was designed to run on plastic tray filling and sealing equipment at the same speeds as plastic trays. It Vlog ’s also quick to switch between plastic and PaperSeal Shape, further enhancing flexibility for Pilgrim Vlog ’s Europe.

PaperSeal Shape was also designed to perform through the supply chain. The double flange construction delivers a rigid tray with excellent hermetic seal integrity, ensuring the trays and their fresh contents reach Sainsbury Vlog ’s in great condition.

From the consumer Vlog ’s perspective, the PaperSeal Shape tray delivers equivalent performance to Sainsbury Vlog ’s previous plastic tray. Research shows that consumers overwhelmingly prefer paperboard packaging to plastic, with Vlog “easy to recycle Vlog ” cited as the most important feature (ProCarton,2025). Because the tray contains less than 10% plastic, it can be recycled with the barrier liner in place, enhancing convenience for the consumer and promoting recycling compliance.

In addition to the WorldStar Awards, the PaperSeal Shape Tray has won a number of other prestigious awards:

ProducePack™ Punnet Tray

Launched by several major European retailers as a replacement for PET trays, the ProducePack™ Punnet tray is ideal for berries, grapes, tomatoes, mushrooms, and baby sweet peppers. Its adoption has led to the removal of approximately 17 million plastic trays per year by one UK retailer for berries alone.

The tray impressed the judges with its exceptional circularity profile:

  • Can meet the SUPD plastic-free Vlog  definition Vlog  (depending on raw materials selected) and is also expected to enable retailers and Vlog  fresh Vlog  produce Vlog  packers Vlog  to comply with the Vlog  Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulations on Vlog  single-use Vlog  plastic Vlog  packaging for unprocessed fresh produce under 1.5kg
  • Over 85% sustainably sourced renewable material
  • Meets UK OPRL guidelines for recyclability in household waste streams and the requirements for Vlog  collection Vlog  with Vlog  paper Vlog  & cardboard Vlog  packaging waste Vlog  in the rest of Vlog  the Vlog  EU
  • Passed the  recyclability test with a score of 90, demonstrating best-in-class performance for printed packaging
  • ھ Vlog  a Vlog  Ĝg Vlog ” Vlog  in Vlog  the Vlog  UK recyclability assessment Vlog  methodology Vlog  (RAM)
  • Compatible with reprocessing in conventional paperboard manufacturing facilities Vlog  according to Vlog  4evergreen circularity by design guidelines
  • Lower carbon footprint than virgin PET trays

The ProducePack Punnet tray supports Graphic Packaging Vlog ’s aim to create packaging solutions that are not only more circular but also more functional, and more convenient than replaced alternatives. It Vlog ’s engineered to run on existing plastic tray forming and sealing equipment, removing a major economic barrier to adopting more circular solutions. Available in a range of paperboards, coatings, and top films, the punnet tray is available from stock or can be customized with high-impact, high-quality graphics.

Extending Shelf Life and Reducing Waste

The punnet tray has been shown to extend shelf life by significantly slowing mold growth2compared to plastic trays Vlog — a benefit valued by both retailers and consumers.

Setting a New Benchmark

The development of the ProducePack Punnet tray is demonstrable proof that paperboard alternatives to plastic not only deliver on sustainability promises, but can also outperform traditional solutions in functionality and convenience Vlog — setting a new benchmark for circular packaging in the fresh produce sector.
